"As we grow, our hearts break in two."

Well, I was wrong. Everyone was wrong. KU did what it's making a habit of every March. They choked. They got their ass kicked by a mid major. Though Bradley has made the Sweet 16, that shouldn't make an excuse for the obvious. Last year was a shock. This year was just plain pitiful. Well, at least everyone will always have the Fort Worth Bowl. It's just sad that this Kansas basketball team is about as reliable as the weather men around this state that predict a massive snowstorm that turns into a lotta rain and a dusting at best. It sucks!!! At least, I saw Canada, Michigan Stadium, a Pacers game, and the new Busch Stadium, not too shabby, considering the circumstances.

As I prepare to journey to Detroit, I take time to give a tournament prediction. KU will win the National Championship and this isn't being a homer. I really believe the Kansas Jayhawks will win it all. In the end, they will talk about the "Baby Hawks," the way they talk about "Danny and The Miracles."

Just amazing as the weather is the way KU won the Big XII Championship. To be snubbed with the trophy a week before and to get a crack at Texas again and settle it on the floor makes me think. I have no idea how far they'll go, but I really think it could surprise everybody, if you know what I mean? Something is very different about this team. I've seen it before and like the storm, anything goes.

As I sit here it Dallas, I reflect on what has happened over the past couple of weeks. The birthday was fun. number 23 is like 22 all over again. I was surrounded by the people I care about the most. It was a fun day and I felt loved by all. Rylan and I decided that birthday wishes are absolute horseshit. Wishes can come at anytime regardless of what day it's made. Sad thing, my so called "birthday wish" didn't last too long before that went the way of Jim Woodlridge's career at K-State. Now, we are in Dallas about to broadcast our last games on KJHK. We never thought we'd be doing these Conference Tournament games on KJ, but it's an incredible way to go out. Sadly, all these wonderful things hapening and it's never enough. We always desire more. We have all these great things happen and late at night as our eyes begin to close, we only wish that we could share it with the one person that actually mattered for once. But, so is life. If it were that easy, we'd be watching ourselves in the movies, riding into the sunset, with the dream already true. Instead, we sleep, hoping we never wake, for we lose ourseleves in the dream and we hold on to it with every breath and every heartbeat, before it inevitably breaks, just as we were always expecting.
